What modern audiences, living sheltered lives, preoccupied with escapist entertainment, and only capable of relieving boredom through sexuality and the grotesque, fail to understand about the origins of both the werewolf and vampire myths is that these were never projections of desire but of fear.

A few days ago, I got to talking with some friends about vampires; namely, about how they are portrayed in modern fiction. What really stood out–at least to how we were seeing it–was how the vampire went from pure monster to Romantic Sexual Hero as belief in it waned.

Morality is rules of behavior within a social organization that in a metaphysical sense does not necessarily have to correspond to good and evil.

When writing supernatural fiction, I have always found it far more fascinating to focus on what people at one time actually believed, even when dealing with icons such as werewolves and vampires.

When I write supernatural stories, I do so based on a backdrop of a supernatural world, which I call the Demon World.
